S.P.Holding Group - Meeting the Challenges
Now in their 26th year, The SP Holding Group have become a large and diverse business employing around 70 full time staff. As with the category that they are sponsoring at The Shropshire Business Awards the group headed by husband and wife team, Steve and Tracey Holding have adapted practices to respond to the challenging business climate. This has included the recent addition of a Renault Trucks Repair & Maintenance Dealership and a state of the art VOSA approved MOT and servicing facility. These not only provide an essential component in the successful maintenance of their own fleet, but also provide a much needed service to other businesses with a fleet of vehicles.
The group, which includes services such as a Country Store, Vehicle Hire, Event and Plant Hire, Transport, Waste Management and Utility Solutions, have a clear and shared vision for the future of the business and strategies in place to ensure that they get there. The dedicated staff, who remain at the core of the business, work together as a strong unit to react to advances in technology and cost saving practices that they can then pass on to their customers to provide them with new and improved services that meet their changing requirements.
A recent example of this is the group’s investment in a new fleet of tankers to answer to the growing demand in the drainage solutions sector of the business. This recent addition means that both commercial and domestic customers will continue to receive an exemplary service, whilst allowing the company to grow and develop.
In the challenging business climate, the group recognises the importance of keeping on the right track and ensuring that the services available are done in accordance with current legislation and are provided by fully trained staff. The company are renowned for their excellent customer service and to keep it this way they regularly review customer feedback to look at any areas for improvement and development.
The group show no signs of slowing down on expanding and improving the range of commercial and domestic services on offer, but will always maintain that ‘family-run’ approach that they did back on day one.
