SP Holding signed up as VOSA Designated Premises

SP Holding have become one of a handful of transport operators in the Shropshire area who have been named as Designated Premises (DP) for VOSA.
It comes as VOSA (The Vehicle and Operator Services Authority) have introduced Authorised Testing Facilities (ATFs) as a way to get closer to customers as well as the point of vehicle maintenance and repair. The aim is also to provide customer choice and reduce overall vehicle 'downtime'. VOSA will be closing many of its outdated testing stations and replacing them with ATFs. However, SP Holding are one of the last companies to be able to become a DP, which is a more convenient and cost-effective solution for local companies, with the nearest facility to Telford companies currently being in Shrewsbury.
SP Holding have existing on site HGV workshop facilities at their head office in Telford, Shropshire, and have been working with well known local names such as Foxies Transport, RL Holding and Veolia, for over 3 years. SP Holding also offers a roadside assistance service, repair work and specialised haulage, plus an onsite metal fabrication workshop.
Transport Manager, Paul Grafton says: "We have been carrying out servicing and maintenance work for a few years now and by becoming a DP we now have the opportunity to carry out further work and provide more convenience to local companies. With our own fleet of haulage and drainage vehicles to maintain, we've gained valuable experience and look forward to working with VOSA."
SP Holding will begin operating as a DP in June 2010.
